Description
The Walla Walla District Corps of Engineers intends to award a Sole Source contract to Transpac Marinas, Inc for a floating dock repair in the Snake River, Washington. ADMIN INFO: The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code is 321992. The small business size standard is 500 employees. All responsible business sources may submit an offer, which will be considered. Before submitting an offer please obtain a complete solicitation from Gary Dahl, (509) 527-7216, gary.h.dahl@usace.army.mil. Offers due close of business July 14, 2006. Description of Action: This action is for a sole source procurement of Storm Damage Repair for Fishhook Park Floating Docks, Ice Harbor Lock and Dam, Snake River, WA. Description of Services: The Corps of Engineers, Walla Walla District owns floating docks, manufactured and sold by Transpac Marinas Inc. These dock systems were damaged by storms in early 2006. The Corps requires specialized knowledge and proprietary materials to complete the following repairs: Scope of Work: " Remove all damaged material. " Installation of structurally-integrated full width steel end weldments. " Replace hinges that shall have been successfully tested in, 5 to 6 seas. This hinge assembly should not result in any loss of float length. This hinge assembly should offer a seamless transition from float to float. " All field cuts to the grating will be epoxy sealed, per manufacturer recommendations. " Repair cosmetic damage to the walers and timber curb. All such areas will be treated with brush-applied wood preservative (2% copper napthenate solution). " All materials used will be of equal grade to those used in the original manufacturing. All work is to be performed by qualified personnel, covered by United States Longshore and Harborworkers Insurance. Schedule: The above scope of work should be completed within eight weeks of issuance of contract and formal notice to proceed. This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation.
