- The U.S. Department of State intends to issue a Sole Source Award to Mountain State Computers for (17) Forensic Analysis Recovery Towers at the following specifications: COOLMASTER Stacker 11 Bay Tower; MSI K8N Neo4 Platinum Socket 939 NVIDIA nForce AMD motherboard; AMD Athlon 62 X2 4800+ Toledo 2000MHz HT Socket 939 Dual core processor; CORSAIR XMS 2GB (2X1GB) 184-Pin DDR SDRAM DDR 400 (PC3200) Unbuffered Dual channel System Memory; Western Digital Raptor WD740GD 74GB 10,000 RPM Serial ATA150 8 Meg buffer (2 each set in RAID zero); Geforce 7600GT 256 MB PCI Express X 16 Video card; Thermaltake Silent Pure Power 680 Watt power supply; SONY 1.44 3.5? floppy drive; NEC 16X DVD+/-R DVD Burner; DataPort V Plus SATA CRU; Adaptec Fireconnect 8300 PCI Card; Black internal speakers; Backplane power adapter; Microsoft WIN XP Pro X64 Edition The Forensic Analysis Recovery Tower is a product of Mountain State Computers and Mountain State Computers is the only manufacturer of this particular item. The statutory authority permitting other than full and open competition is 41 U.S.C. 253 (c)(i). The regulatory authority is FAR 6.302-1. Only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements. This is a notice of intent to award a sole source procurement action and is not a request for competitive proposals. Firms who want to challenge the sole source must submit an interest letter that demonstrates your firms ability to provide an equivalent supply as described above. Interested parties must provide a rationale as to why they should be considered. All interested firms must respond to this notice by 12 July 2006, 12:00 PM EST. to the point of contact listed below. Responses received will be evaluated; however, a determination by the Government not to compete the proposed procurement based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion for the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. The U.S. Department of State will not reimburse for any costs connected with providing the capability information.
