Description

The U.S. Merchant Marine Academy intends to acquire a single cylinder DIESEL research engine that is to be installed in its Internal Combustion Engines Laboratory. This engine shall replace an existing engine on the Academy?s TecQuipment TD35 Varimax test stand. The engine shall be a single-cylinder four-stroke direct-injected diesel engine that meets or exceeds the following minimum performance requirements: Displacement - 300 to 1000 cc; Power Rating(nominal)- 5 to 10 HP; Operating Speed Range - 1000 to 3000 RPM; Fuel Injection - Bosch mechanical(or equal); Compression Ratio - Adjustable from 10/1 to 20/1 or greater; Injection Timing - Adjustable +/- 10 degrees or greater. Other requirements shall be included in the specification that is part of the solicitation package. This action is unrestricted. The applicable NAICS is 336312 for which the size standard is 750 employees. The issue date for this solicitation will be on or about 24 July 2006.
