FAA-E-2761c The files can be downloaded from http://www.asu.faa.gov/faaco/index.cfm End of Amendment 001 Basic announcement - 7-10-06 PURPOSE - The purpose of this announcement is to obtain offers in response to the attached solicitation DTFAWA-06-R-03453 for Commercial Off The Shelf (COTS) Synchronous Optical Network (SONET) based Add-Drop Multiplexers (ADM). BACKGROUND -The FAA has many airports throughout the nation that have implemented, or plan to implement, fiber optics systems for their on-airport communications. As a result, the FAA will provide the fiber optic multiplexer equipment at those locations, through this solicitation. The requirements for this equipment are defined in the Commercial Off The Shelf (COTS) Synchronous Optical Network (SONET) Add-Drop Multiplexer (ADM) for the Airport Cable Loop Systems Sustained Support Program, FAA-P-2978b. The FAA will also provide the necessary support for the COTS SONET ADM in terms of engineering and logistics support; maintenance/operator training; spares provisioning and maintenance program; and the documentation for implementation, maintenance, and operation of the equipment as part of this solicitation. The attached documentation describes the products and tasks to be provided by the selected contractor. Solicitation files can be downloaded from http://www.asu.faa.gov/faaco/index.cfm INSTRUCTIONS - Any firm interested in competing for this requirement may respond by submitting a proposal in accordance with the attached section L and M. All submissions will be properly secured and protected by the FAA. Please be advised that all written submissions become property of the government. The FAA will not pay for any information nor any incurred costs that are associated with any proposal received in response to this solicitation. Any and all costs associated with any proposal submissions will be solely at the interested party's expense.
