Description

This synopsis is being posted to both the Federal Business Opportunities(FBO) page located at http://www.fbo.gov/ and the Navy Electronic Commerce on Line(NECO) site located at http://www.neco.navy.mil. While it is understood that FBO is the single point of entry for posting of synopsis and solicitations to the internet, NECO is the alternative in case FBO is unavailable. Please feel free to use either site to access information posted by the Navy Sea Systems Command. The Naval Undersea Warfare Center Division Newport intends to award a Firm Fixed Price Contract on a Sole Source basis to Makai Ocean Engineering, Inc., 41-305 Kalanianaole Highway, Waimanalo, HI 96795 for cable laying software. Makai Plan software is being procured due to its detailed engineering functionality for route planning and basic functionality for installation including Steady State Calculation Tools and Simple Lay Analysis. This software is required to integrate with current projects presently being utilized by NFESC, SPAWAR and NUWC. The Government plans to issue a request for written quote to Makai Ocean Engineering, Inc. using FAR Part 12 and FAR Part 13 on or about 07/18/2006. The anticipated award date is 28 Jul 2006. Any Company that believes it has the capability to meet the Government?s minimum requirements is invited to submit a quote for Government evaluation. All proposals from responsible sources will be considered. Our department no longer issues solicitations or amendments in paper form. Instead, they may be accessed at our web site http://www.npt.nuwc.navy.mil/contract/. We also provide electronic access in our Bid Room.
