- Description
- The purpose of this amendment is to answer questions from prospective contractors. Question 1- Are the Stowed Solar Array Panels permitted to hang below the Bus/LV Adapter (or the snubber footprint area) interface if they have sufficient clearance to the adapter? Answer 1- There is a possibility that the solar panels will be permitted to hang below the Bus/launch vehicle (LV) adapter interface if they have sufficient clearance to the adapter. However, the exact dimensions of the LV adapter are unknown at this time. Any deviation from the outlined stowed envelope in the specification will be evaluated on a case by case basis. Question 2- Is the Solar Array contractor responsible for mechanically attaching the restraints or snubber devices which lie outside the bus panel size but inside the snubber/restraint footprint? Answer 2- The solar array contractor will not be responsible for mechanically attaching restraints or snubber devices to the bus. The contractor is welcome to participate in the integration of any solar array hardware delivered. Question 3- What is the anticipated award for this effort? The solicitation references FAR 52.212-1 which states that the offeror agrees to hold the prices in its offer firm for 30 days. This would indicate an award NLT 24 August 2006. Answer 3- The anticipated award date is between September and October 2006.
