Description
The U.S. Department of Energy (DOE), Office of Nuclear Energy, Science and Technology (NE), Isotope Programs, intends to solicit a proposal and negotiate a sole source contract pursuant to FAR 6.301-1, with Nuclear Medical Solutions (NMS) for the import and purchase of irradiated Strontium 82 (Sr-82) targets. Under the proposed contract NMS would supply irradiated Sr-82 targets to DOE. All targets will be irradiated by the Institute for Nuclear Research (INR), in Troitsk, Russia and shipped to DOE???s Los Alamos National Laboratory (LANL) or Brookhaven National Laboratory (BNL) for processing. The North American industry Classification System (NAIC) Code for this requirement is 334517. The period of performance is 60 months. The propose contract will be for a three-year base period with two, one-year options. Interested parties having all the capabilities to provide the product described above are request to submit its product specifications and proposed price to DOE. Responses MUST be submitted vial the Department of Energy Industry Interactive Procurement System (IIPS) at the following internet address: http://e-center.doe.gov no later than 3:00 p.m. on August 7, 2006. Contractors must register via the IIPS website prior to responding to this Notice of Intent. Instruction on how to submit your responses can be found in the help document, which is located at the address above. For technical assistance firms should call 1(800) 683-0751 or e-mail the IIPS administrator at iips@pr.doe.gov. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. However, all capability statements received by August 7, 2006 will be considered by the Government. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract is based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered for the purpose of determination whether to conduct a competitive procurement. THE GOVERNMENT WILL NOT PAY FOR COSTS INCURRED IN THE PREPRATION AND SUMBISSION OF DATA OR OTHER COSTS INCURRED IN RESPONSE TO THIS ANNOUNCEMENT.
