Description
The Department of Veterans Affairs is seeking proposals from Construction firms for a project. This procurement is for Construction of Consolidation Phase I Domiciliary - Business Buildings at the VA Pittsburgh Health Care System, H.J. Heinz III Division, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. The project is Phase I of the Consolidation of the Pittsburgh VA Health Care System and will construct approximately 68,000 square feet of domiciliary and 84,000 square feet of office/administrative space. Contractor shall furnish labor and materials, equipment, transportation, supervision, coordination and services required to perform and complete the work required by drawings and specifications including, but not limited to, the following: 1. Business Building, a 2-story office structure, with partial basement. 2. Domiciliary facilities, consisting of 7 separate freestanding structures, namely: a. Central Building, a 2-story structure, containing residential functions, support functions, and office areas b. Two patio home structures, single story residential constructions. c. Two town home structures, 2-story residential structures. d. Two quad home structures, 2-story residential structures. 3. Additions to site storm water system and sanitary sewer system to connect new buildings and site areas to existing systems. 4. Site excavation and grading. 5. Construction of new parking lots and sidewalks. 6. Landscaping. 7. Additions to site water service and gas service to connect new buildings to existing systems. 8. Additions to site electrical service and telecommunications service to connect new buildings to existing systems, and new exterior lighting. 9. Additions to chilled water system, to connect new buildings to existing systems. 10. Additions to steam piping system. The offeror shall furnish, obtain any and all necessary licenses and/or permits required to perform this work in the state of Pennsylvania. Cost Range for this procurement is between $20,000,000 and $50,000,000. The NAICS Code for this procurement is 236220. Solicitation documents will be available on or about July 27, 2006. Proposal documents are available at a cost of $250.00 per set, refundable upon return to Astorino at the above referenced address. A Pre-Proposal conference is scheduled for August 8, 2006 at 1:00 PM Local Time at the VA Pittsburgh Healthcare System, H. John Heinz III Progressive Care Center, Delafield Road, Bldg 51, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Pittsburgh , PA 15260. Sealed proposals are due to the Contracting Officer by August 31, 2006, 3:00 PM EDT. There will be no public opening. All Offerors must ensure that their firms have the ability to provide the required, Bonds, at due date. The proposals will be evaluated and award made on the basis of Best Value in accordance with the FAR Subpart 15. Contract will be awarded SUBJECT TO AVAILABLE FUNDS.
