- Description
- The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention intends to issue a sole source purchase order to Qiagen, 27220 Turnberry Lane, Suite 200, Valencia, CA 91355-1005, for upgrades to add redundancy to existing equipment used in bioterrorism offices. Equipment requires proprietary protocol cards containing extraction methods specific to the target molecule, gDNA, bacterial DNA, Total NA, Total RNA, and Viral DNA/RNA and must take samples from cultured cells, blood, dried blood spots, buffy coat, buccal cells, mouth washes, paraffin-enbedded sections, FFPE, urine, cerebral spinal fluid, soil, air filters, water, bone, stool, cigarette butts, nasal washes and nasal swabs. Stand alone; no computer necessary; small footprint required due to minimal laboratory space (no larger than 282mm x 455mm x 43mm). CDC believes that this requirement is met by only one provider. This procurement will be processed under the authority of FAR 6.302-1 and 6.302-2. Only one responsible source and no other sources will satisfy agency requirements. No solicitation is being issued.
