Description

The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, has the need to construct modifications to the Muskrat Dam, an earthen embankment dam located on the Arapaho National Wildlife Refuge in Jackson County, Colrado, 953 JC Road #32 Walden, CO 80480 The work to be performed includes installing, maintaining and removing temporary erosion control measures and construction fencing. Installing, operating and removing dewaterning systems as needed. Furnishing and installing a new toe drain system to direct seepage to Potter Creek. Constructing a toe berm along the downstream slope as shown on the drawings. Modifying (regrading) the dam embankment to a constant crest elevation sloped upstream as shown on the Drawings. Installing a new cut off wall within emergency spillway channel as shown on the drawings. Regrading the eroded areas in the emergency spillway channel as shown on the drawings. Regrading the right service spillway/outlet works channel bank, and installing and furninshing riprap and riprap bedding in the regradrd area as shown on the drawings. Modifying existing piezometers to match the new dam geometry. Furninshing and installing staff gauges. Removing vegetation from the upstream slope, filling animal burrows, and placing riprap on the upstream slope in areas of sparse coverage. Reclaiming disturbed areas. Other items of work incidental to the above work items including clearing, stripping and stockpiling cover soil, unclassified excavation, reservoir control, and access road maintenance. It is expected the construction will begin during the fall of 2006 and that modifications will be completed by spring 2007. The estimated price range is between $250,000.00 and $5,000.00. Request For Proposal (RFP) No. 982106R027 will be issued on or about July 31, 2006 and may be accessed at http://ideasec.nbc.gov. This procurement is not a small-business set aside.
