Description

The work of this project consists of the general construction of a water pipeline (4 inch) along the Drakes Beach access road (approx 102 LF) at Point Reyes National Seashore and to make improvements to the Drakes Beach Water Tank Valve Vault. The Contractor will be required to furnish all labor, supervision, materials, equipment, supplies, and appurtenances to fully complete the work. The existing water supply and distribution system shall remain in service until the new water system improvements are substantially complete, disinfected, tested, and accepted. In addition, the Contractor shall provide temporary water storage (min 20,000 gallons) for the tank valve vault improvements. The solicitation will include Bid Item Additives to extend the distance of the waterline, subject to available funding. The project is located at Point Reyes National Seashore, near Point Reyes Station, in Marin County, CA. The Drakes Beach site is approximately 20-25 minutes from the Seashore Headquarters building (see map at http://www.nps.gov/pore/visit_maps.htm). The project estimate is between $250,000 and $500,000. Project completion will be required within 180 days after receipt of a Notice to Proceed. Award selection will be based on a Best Value determination made after considering costs and factors other than costs (experience, past performance, etc.) as set forth in the solicitation. The Request for Proposal (RFP) will be available via electronic commerce only and can be accessed on/after August 1, 2006 at http://www.fedbizopps.gov or directly through the DOI National Business Center site at http://ideasec.nbc.gov. The due date for receipt of proposals will be 30 days after issuance. The Contractor is responsible for periodically checking the website for any Amendments that may be issued prior to the closing date of the RFP. This acquisition is unrestricted pursuant to Public Law 100-656. All responsible sources may submit a proposal which, if timely received, will be considered.
