Description
APPROXIMATE SOLICITATION ISSUE DATE: 30 June 2006. The 55th Contracting Squadron will be conducting the solicitation and award of an 8(a) competitive, non-personal services, firm-fixed price, follow-on contract for a base period and 2 one-year option periods. Competition is limited to eligible 8(a) concerns. The Government anticipates issuing a Request for Proposal (RFP), Solicitation Number FA4600-06-R-0029, which will be posted electronically on this website www.fedbizopps.gov. This effort is to provide Automated Data Processing (ADP) Support and Services at Air Force Combat Climatology Center (AFCCC), Asheville, NC. The objective of this contract is to obtain Automated Data Processing (ADP) preventive and remedial maintenance services for Government-owned computer equipment including central processing units, workstations, peripheral devices, automated tape libraries, Local Area Network (LAN) hardware, and other related ADP equipment and software. The contractor shall provide web maintenance, database development and maintenance, maintenance and support for the Advanced Climate Modeling and Environmental Simulations System (ACMES), and onsite project/program management. Provide remedial hardware/software/configuration maintenance and ensure software and operating system licenses are current. Provide personnel with Top Secret/Sensitive Compartmented Information (TS/SCI) clearances. Provide system administration, operations, and maintenance, for the Windows/Unix/Linux Network Operating Systems. Provide the installation, configuration, upgrading, and system maintenance for identified operating systems, COTS/GOTS products, service unique software, and AFCCC unique systems. Provide design and upgrades compliant with DoD and AF Information and Technology standards and initiatives, development, configuration and maintenance of trusted and untrusted local area networks (LANs) within AFCCC. Install updates, configure and maintain software/hardware to the network and firewall within AFCCC. Provide designs and upgrades compliant with DoD and AF Information and Technology standards and initiatives, development, and implementation of data structures, database architectures, and database methodologies. Install, configure and maintain database instances and associated software. Administer web servers with connectivity to the World Wide Web (WWW) at the Unclassified, Secret and Top Secret levels. Web application development and design services may be required at the option of the government. The contractor shall apply knowledge of numerical weather prediction models and data assimilation techniques to identify algorithms or parameterization schemes to integrate into the Advanced Climate Modeling and Environmental Simulations (ACMES) system. The contractor shall provide programming support in the modification, maintenance and execution of application software. This acquisition will be conducted using commercial procedures per FAR Part 12 and negotiated procedures per FAR Part 15. The RFP and all associated documents, when issued, will be posted on the required government wide point of entry. No solicitation is available at this time. All associated documents will be released electronically. The NAICS code is 541511, and the size standard is $21M. Anticipated award date is 01 October 2006.
