Description

The Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR), Patuxent River, MD intends to award a sole source production contract to Northrop Grumman Space and Mission System Corporation (NGST), San Diego, CA to upgrade the AN/ASQ-225 Q-70 Advanced Control Indicator Set (ACIS) systems in the Hawkeye 2000 E-2C to address parts obsolescence and increased operational requirements. The upgrade at minimum will include functionally equivalent replacements of the processor, graphics, radar scan converter, and radar interface boards capable of handling the current and planned future requirements of the tactical software. The contractor shall design the replacement system to facilitate future low cost integration into the E-2C Group II(N). The contractor shall implement their RData technology in the development of necessary replacement components not available as COTS. NGST holds sole data rights to the RData technology which builds upon existing elements of the RePLACE technology developed for the E-2C Group II Mission Computer Replacement Program (GrIIM RePr). The contractor has significant experience in the integration of new systems into the E-2C, as demonstrated in the GrIIM RePr effort. See Numbered Notes 22.
