A form, fit, and functional replacement for an indicator lens on the DRS Power & Control Indicator P/N 6981ED166-xxxx (Cage 27192) with the exception that it should meet the Night Vision Radiance and Color Coordinate Requirements of MIL-L-85762A for Warning Lights AT FULL RATED POWER. Behind the indicator lens are two(2) Incandescent Lamps: Trade Number 1769 (also known as MS15612-3 and W-L-00111/56). The incandescent lamps CANNOT BE DIMMED hence the requirment for Night Vision Radiance has to be AT FULL RATED POWER of the incandescent lamps. The Lens Legend should be the same size, number of lines, and color as the original indicator lens legends. The Lens Legend also needs to survive for 25 to 50 years, the anticipated life of the ship, without deterioration (i.e., flaking, pealing, delamination) in a maritime environment. It also needs to withstand ocean spray and jet engine exhause pollutants (from a few feet away). The lens legend should be negraved or else needs to be able to withstand ?absent minded vandalism? of navy or marine personnel scratching, scraping, pealing etc with fingernails, screwdrivers, nail clippers or other abrasives devices without obliterating the legend. Theindicator lens also needs to be just as sunlight readable as the original legend it is replacing. Overall physical dimensions & tolerances and remaining optical characteristics of this replacement part shall permit a one for one replacement without modifications to the existing electronic assembly. This is a Sole Source procurement to Korry Electronics, Seattle, WA. Packing/Packaging: Best Commercial. Inspection & Acceptance: Naval Air Warfare Center/Aircraft Divison, Lakehurst, NJ (Destination). This announcement consitutes the only solicitation; a written solicitation will not be issued. All responses may be faxed to Debbie Dewyea (732)323-7192. Closing date is 02 August 2006.
