Description
SCOPE OF WORK: Furnish all labor, materials, equipment, permits, and services necessary to execute parking lot improvements at USPS main post office. Base bid work includes, but is not limited to ? site demolition, storm sewers and appurtenances, pavement base and site preparation, under-drains, asphalt cement pavement, Portland cement concrete pavement and sidewalks, stripping, signing, site retaining walls repair, railing replacement, site features, and site restoration. Contractor to provide all demolition as noted on drawing C1.1 Demolition Plan. All demolition materials shall be completely removed from site, and legally disposed of, before new work starts. Contractor is to provide all work as outlined in the contract documents, which include Drawings, Specifications, and Postal Bidding Data. Contractor is to execute all new work as provided on drawings C2.0, C2.1, C3.0, C3.1, C4.0 and C5.0. Contractor is to allow the Customers and USPS personnel and vehicles total access to the site during normal operations and work hours. Contractor is to coordinate and work with the USPS personnel to provide a plan of work to achieve this. Contractor is to maintain dust control operations during all demolition and new construction activities. Alternate #1 work shall include the replacement of the designated area of existing Portland cement concrete pavement at the vehicle parking and storage area located at the northwest corner of the site with a new, 8? thick Portland cement concrete pavement, per the contract documents, complete in place. This work shall be in lieu of the base contract, specified full depth asphalt cement concrete payment. Alternate #2 work shall include the replacement of the existing asphalt cement pavement parking lot at the two (2) designated areas located at the east side of the existing Main Post Office building with full depth asphalt cement concrete pavement, per the contract documents, complete in place. This work shall be in lieu of the base contract specified asphalt cement concrete overlay with fabric, on a prepared milled asphalt concrete surface. Alternate #3 work shall include replacement of the existing asphalt cement pavement at the existing parking lot on the east side of South Avenue, with full depth asphalt cement, per the contract documents, complete in place. This work shall be in lieu of the base contract specified asphalt cement concrete overlay with fabric, on a cleaned and prepared existing asphalt concrete surface. Contractor is to provide a Lump Sum price for the base contract work, as well as additional Lump Sum prices for each of the Alternates (1,2 & 3), for which the work thereof, may be described as alternate pavement work for select project. The estimated cost range for the project is between $1,300,000 and $1,700,000, with construction to be completed within 90 calendar days from receipt of the Notice to Proceed. Work will be performed during a 24/7 mail processing operation. Contractors must have a minimum of ten (10) years experience in all aspects of the pavement work, including overlays and total payment replacements. Award will be based on price and evaluation factors that include past performance, experience, resources, and project management, as outlined in the solicitation package. PRE-PROPOSAL MEETING WILL BE HELD AT THE SITE (MAIN ENTRANCE) ON 7/31/2006, @ 10:00 AM. ATTENDANCE IS HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.
