- DESCRIPTION OF WORK: The project work consists of removing shoals along the Entrance Channel Cut1N. The contract will consist of Base and Option Bid Items as follows: The Base Bid consists of dredging the following area to a required depth of 49 f eet plus 1 foot allowable overdepth: (1) dredge approximately 174,000 cubic yards (cy) of material from Cut-1N Station 80+00 to Station 220+00 and North Settling Basin Station 119+00 to Station 123+00 with placement at the designated Ft. Clinch disposal ar ea located approximately 3 mile from the project site; and (2) dredge approximately 620,000 cy of material from Cut -1N Station 220+00 to Station 325+00 with placement in the designated ocean disposal area, D/A-O, located approximately 12.5 miles from the project site. The Option Items consist of dredging the following areas to a required depth of 49 feet plus 1 foot allowable overdepth: (3) dredge approximately 100,000 cy of additional material from Cut 1N Station 80+00 to Station 220+00 and/or North Se ttling Basin Station 177+50 to Station 227+50 (Range 1250 to 1350) with placement between monuments R-25.8 and R-29.8 at the designated beach disposal area, D/A-B located approximately 6.5 miles from the project site; and (4) dredge approximately 100,000 c y from Cut 1N Station 325+00 to Station 501+23.68 with placement in the designated ocean disposal area, D/A-O. This work is restricted to HOPPER DREDGES and COAST GUARD CERTIFICATION OF VESSELS IS REQUIRED. Work also includes turbidity monitoring, enda ngered species monitoring and possible sea turtle trawling and relocation. Magnitude of construction is between $5,000,000.00 and $10,000,000.00. The solicitation will be issued on or after 07 August 2006 with bids due on or after 19 September 2006. THI S IS AN UNRESTRICTED ACQUISITION. ALL RESPONSIBLE BIDDERS ARE ENCOURAGED TO PARTICIPATE. There will be a price preference for certified HUBZone small business concerns that comply with the requirements in the solicitation as stipulated in FAR 19.1307.
