Description
The US Army Corps of Engineers - Chicago District is seeking sources by way of this Market Survey to determine the adequacy of sources in the open market that have the necessary capabilities to satisfy the requirements for the Operation and Maintenan ce of the Electric Dispersal Barrier I, located in Romeoville, IL. This notice does not constitute an Invitation for Bid or Request for Proposal and is not to be construed as a commitment by the Government. The Government will not reimburse contractors for any cost incurred for their participation in this survey. Large and small businesses are encouraged to participate in this survey. PROJECT DESCRIPTION: The Contractor will be required to provide all equipment, materials, and labor to perform the fol lowing tasks: 1) Operate and maintain the Barrier I Facility. Please note that the Facility operation is continuous, except during power outages; 2) Perform six quarterly service and maintenance checks, which includes: systems diagnosis and performance a nalysis.; 3) Service equipment and maintain electric pulse generators, an emergency stand-by generator, building and site lighting, and a submerged electrode array on the canal floor.; 4) Perform unscheduled emergency service that may include the use of di vers and local service providers. The work may also include crating and shipping patented electronic components to Smith-Root, Inc. in Vancouver, Washington, and receiving and installing similar components. All activities shall be conducted in accordance with applicable Federal, state and local regulations and applicable provisions of MSHA, OSHA and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Safety Manual - EM 385-1-1. In response to this survey, this office is requesting that interested sources provide the foll owing information. 1. Description of the education and experience of your company's project superintendent and the senior electrical engineer. 2. Descriptions of the work performed by your company under similar jobs. 3.
