- SCOPE OF WORK DOORS, FRAMES AND CLOSERS The intent of this scope of work is to supply and install doors, frames and hardware in several locations on the center as per the following scope of work, specifications and instructions. A: Item# 60056 Main Bldg. Deputy Director Assistant Office. 1. The door closer is damaged and beyond repair and does not self-close. 2. The contractor shall remove spring loaded hinges and replace with new spring loaded hinges. 3. The contractor shall adjust accordingly so the door self-closes and self-latches. B: Item# 60062 Main Bldg. Friendship West RA Office. 1. The RA office door has no vision panel and is wedged open by staff.(NFPA 101,2003,29.3.6.4) 2. The contractor shall remove existing door. 3. The contractor shall supply and install a new 20 minute rated solid core wood door with a rated wire glass window 24? X 24? to fit in existing frame. 4. The contractor shall supply and install new spring loaded hinges and provide necessary adjustments for the door to self-close and self-latch. 5. The contractor shall use the existing lock in the new door. C: Item# 60080 Main Bldg. Bay 10 Hallway. 1. The egress door on Bay 10 is deteriorated and is beyond repair. ( NFPA 101,2003,29.2.2.2.7.2.1.5) 2. The contractor shall remove existing door and frame. 3. The contractor shall supply and install a new 20 minute fire rated welded metal frame and hollow metal door ( 16ga) in the existing opening. 4. The contractor shall supply and install new Hinges, Panic Hardware, Door Closure and an 11? X 11? wire glass in the door. 5. The contractor shall use existing rim lock set. D: Item# 60083 Freedom Hall. 1. The doors on Dorm Rooms 344, 345, 347, 349, 357, 359, 363, 379, 380, 386 and 387 have failed spring loaded hinges.(NFPA 101, 2003, 29.3.8.4) 2. The contractor shall remove all existing hinges on the above rooms. 3. The contractor shall supply and install 1 ? pair of spring loaded hinges on each door. 4. The contractor shall provide adjustments so that each door will self close and self latch. E: Item# 61584 Main Bldg. Back Porch Exit. 1. The existing door is damage beyond repair.( NFPA 101, 2003, 39.2.2.2.1 and 7.2.1.5.1) 2. The contractor shall remove existing frame and door. 3. The contractor shall supply and install a new 20 minute fire rated welded metal frame and hollow metal door ( 16ga ) in the existing opening. 4. The contractor shall supply and install new Hinges, Panic Hardware, Door Closure and an 11? X 11? wire glass in the door. F: Item# 48950 1st Floor CPP Bldg. 1. The existing door closure is beyond repair. ( NFPA 101,2003,39.2.2.3 and 7.1.3.2.1) 2. The contractor shall remove existing closure. 3. The contractor shall supply and install a new door closure. 4. The contractor shall provide necessary adjustments to restore the door proper operation. G: Item# 60103 Student Store. 1. The stair to the upper level space lacks hand rail posing a hazard.(NFPA 101, 2003, 39.2.2.3.1 and 7.2.2.4.4) 2. The contractor shall supply and install a 1 ?? DIA. X 16 FT in Length with support brackets mounted 5? on center to the right side of the stairs. H: Hardware. 1. Door closure shall be Dorma Door Control Model 640 Completed with parallel arm set bolt meeting package alum finish 2. Panic Bar Von Duprin Model 22EO. I: Demolition/Removal. 1. The contractor shall verify location and extent of demolition required to accomplish the work. 2. Construction debris must be removed from the site and construction area must be secured to the centers satisfaction at the end of each workday. 3. The contractor is responsible for repairs and finishes for demolition that extends beyond the doors and the frames. J: RULES 1. The contractor shall at all times abide by the centers rules and regulations. 2. The contractor must meet Davis Bacon Act Wage Requirements. 3. Payment terms are Net 30 from Center sign-off on completion 4. The contractor shall supply evidence of applicable licenses, liability insurance and workmen?s compensation insurance. 5. Work shall be completed during the hours of 7am ? 3pm Mon-Fri unless otherwise arranged with Center Facility Manager. 6. Center Facility Manager, David Bonsal, will be the Point-of-Contact for site construction needs. The Center F&A Director, Rodney Butler, will be the POC for contract administration. K: Warranty. 1. All materials, services and labor shall be warranted free for a period of one year. L: Finishes/Painting. 1. The contractor shall finish all doors and frames with one coat of rust inhibiting paint and two coats of finish paint to match existing. 2. The contractor shall use a sealer finish on the handrail. M: Bid Requirement. 1. The contractor shall submit their bid noting detailed labor and material costs separately. Please note that a Pre-Bid walkthrough will take place on Friday, August 4th @ 11:00am. Final bids should be sumitted by COB on August 11th 2006.
