- This is a synopsis for a commercial acquisition using simplified acquisition procedures (Reference FAR Parts 12 and 13). THIS IS A SYNOPSIS AS REQUIRED BY FAR PART 5.2 ? THIS IS NOT A REQUEST FOR QUOTE/PROPOSAL. VENDORS SHOULD NOT SUBMIT FORMAL QUOTES/PROPOSALS UNTIL THE RFQ/RFP IS POSTED TO THIS WEBSITE. 45th Contracting Squadron at Patrick AFB, Florida intends to issue a solicitation for Cathodic Protection Services. This synopsis is for commercial acquisition in accordance with FAR 12 and 13.5. Contractor is to provide, but not limited to, all personnel, tools, materials, supplies, transportation and supervision to perform cathodic protection services and tank cleaning for two (2) above-ground steel water storage tanks located on Patrick AFB, FL in a manner that will comply with Government and commercial standards for cathodic protection services. Specifications, requirements, locations, size, and frequencies will be provided in the Performance Work Statement. Initial period of performance will be one (1) year with four (4) one-year options periods. Evaluation of options shall not obligate the Government to exercise any option period. Award will be made to the lowest, technically acceptable offeror. This is a 100% small business set-aside and is subject to the Service Contract Act. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code is 541990. The Standard Industrial Code (SIC) is 7389. The size standard is $5 million. The entire solicitation will be made available only on the Federal Business Opportunities website at http://www.eps.gov . Solicitation FA2521-06-R-0047 will be issued on or about 4 Aug 06. A site visit date and time will be identified in the solicitation. No hard copies of the solicitation will be issued under any circumstance. Anticipated award date will be on or about 15 Sep 06 with a performance start date of 1 Oct 06. Potential offerors are responsible for monitoring this site for the release of the solicitation. The Department of Defense (DoD) has determined the Central Contractor Registration (CCR) to be the single DoD registration for contractors who conduct business, or who are interested in conducting business, with DoD. To be eligible for contract award, offerors must be registered in CCR. You can register on-line at http://ccr.edi.disa.mil . It is mandatory to obtain a DUNS number prior to registering in CCR by calling Dun & Bradstreet at 1-800-333-0505.
