Description

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, New England District is soliciting prospective contractors for the Maintenance Dredging of the Point Judith Harbor of Refuge Federal navigation project in South Kingstown and Narragansett Rhode Island. The work invo lves dredging of approximately 90,000 cubic yards of sand from the authorized 15 foot and 6 foot channels. The sediment material is clean sand. Dredging will be performed by mechanical dredge, and the material will be transported by scow to two nearshore disposal sites located off of the Matunuck shoreline, approximately 3 miles west of the project location. Disposal shall be in 15 to 18 feet of water. The dredge window is from October 1st through March 15th and will require the contractor to sequence the work. All work must be completed within one dredging season. The NAICS code for this Procurement is 237990, with a Size Standard of $18.5 million. This solicitation is issued on an unrestricted basis. The estimated issue date for this procurement is on or about August 11, 2006. Prospective contractors and subcontractors are required to self-register their firm or office on the Internet to receive the solicitation. Amendments, if any, to this solicitation will be made available at the https://www.fedteds.gov Internet site. Neither telephonic, mailed nor fax requests will be accepted.
