Description

The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, Region 2, Albuquerque, New Mexico is soliciting offers on a competitive basis from experienced qualified contractors to furnish all labor, equipment, and materials necessary to construct a wildlife watering well with associated appurtenances. The project is located at the San Bernard National Wildlife Refuge, north of the intersection of County Road 316 and State Road 2611, approx. 20 miles southwest of Angleton, Brazoria County, Texas... Work includes drilling and constructing water well for domestic use that is approximately 400 feet deep, with 4-inch minimum diameter steel casing and stainless steel wire-wrap slotted well screen, including well testing and development, gravel pack, pitless adapter with PVC discharge pipe, concrete pad at well head, and 5 hp submersible pump with electric motor. Connections to primary power and water distribution system is not included but will be performed by a separate contract. Contractor will be required to obtain well permit and shall comply with permit and State of Texas local rules and regulations pertaining to well drilling and construction. Water and electric power is not available at the site and it is the responsibility of the Contractor to provide for all electric power or water as needed for well construction. The magnitude of construction is under $100,000. Proposals will be evaluated will on best value where technical and past performance are of greater or equal importance than cost/price. Contractor will be required to furnish payment protection in the amount of 100% of the contract price upon award of the contract. The solicitation will be available on or about July 28, 2006.
