Description

The National Oceanic & Atmospheric Administration intends to issue a sole source purchase order to Beckman Coulter for a service agreement for maintenance of the following instruments: Qty. 4 - Centrifuge Model Numbers: ALLEGRA64R and J20XPI Qty. 2 - Genetic Analysis System Model Number: CEQ8000 Qty. 1 - Spectrophotometer Model Number DU800 Qty. 2 - Ultra Centrifuge Model Numbers: L100XP and Optimax Qty. 1 - Multisizer Model Number: Multisizer III The period of performance for the maintenance service agreement is from 09/01/2006 through 08/31/2007. The advanced technology instruments require regular maintenance to maintain the precision and functionality of the instruments and in turn the ability to produce data at the appropriate performance specifications. This maintenance is also required to ensure the safety of individuals operating the equipment. Beckman Coulter is the original equipment manufacture (OEM) and the only authorized service agent. Beckman Coulter is the only known source of parts and technical expertise to provide maintenance and repair to the instruments. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotes. However, the Government will consider all quotes received within five (5) days after the date of publication of this synopsis. A determination by the Government not to compete as a result of quotes received is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
