Description

Under the authority of FAR Parts 6.302-1, 12 and 13, the Navy intends to solicit and award a sole source, firm fixed price purchase order to Sacher Lasertechnik, LLC for two (2) Tiger Series High Power Tapered Amplifier Laser Systems. The diode laser system must have 1W or greater power with control electronics capable of phase locking two laser systems together. A bias-tee option of 1Ghz or greater is also required, along with the greatest mode hope free range (> 30Ghz). The basis for the sole source is only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive offers. However, interested parties may submit a capabilities statement in which they identify their interest and capability. All capability statements received by 2:00PM EST, 10 August 2006, will be considered by the Government solely for the purpose of determining whether to initiate a competitive procurement. Technical capability will be determined solely on the content and merit of the information submitted in response to this provision. Therefore, it is incumbent on the interested party to provide sufficient technical literature, documentation, etc. in order for the Government to make an adequate technical assessment. The Government reserves the right to process the procurement on a sole source basis based upon the responses received. The Government will not pay for any information received.
