- Description
- The Government intends to procure bracket and alignment (B&A) procedures using a 5 year, Firm Fixed Price (FFP), Indefinite Quantity/Indefinite Delivery (IDIQ) contract with a maximum dollar value of $6,500,000.00. B&A is a bracket with an alignment process representing the final step in the manufacture of the OR-336/A Cooler-Dewar Group, NSN 5855-01-172-1788. B&A involves the installation of the bracket coupled with an extremely precise optical alignment procedure that together assures that the OR- 336/A Cooler-Dewar Group, NSN: 5855-01-293-1592, which is provided as Government Furnished Material (GFM), is properly bore-sighted when installed. The performance of the bracket and alignment procedure requires a complex infrared optical alignment table, computer interface measurement devices and infrared sources. This solicitation will be issued on a Limited Competition basis since currently there are only two contractors, Lockheed-Martin Corporation (Orlando, FL) and Canadian Commercial Corporation/DR S Technologies (Ontario, Canada), that have operational facilities with the necessary equipment needed to perform the required B&A procedures and meet the Governments delivery schedule requirement. The Government does not posses the technical data nec essary to enable competition for this proposed action. The forecasted issuance date of the solicitation is on or about 14AUG2006.
