REQUEST FOR INFORMATION (RFI) ONLY - Due 31 July 2006 - The Space and Naval Warfare Systems Center (SPAWARSYSCEN) Charleston (Code 70 - Intelligence and Information Warfare Systems Engineering Department) is requesting information regarding Commercial Off The Shelf (COTS) Mass Notification Systems (MNS) technologies currently available in the marketplace that would allow Navy personnel to provide both interior and exterior audio (siren and voice) notification to personnel on various Navy Bases worldwide. Interested vendor's systems shall be fully compliant with UFC 4-021-01 "Design and O&M: Mass Notification Systems???, Release date 18 December 2002. Additionally, interested parties systems shall be capable of meeting the following additional requirements: Remote connection to multiple systems together such that one "master control system" can initiate sub-systems either individually or concurrently. Interfacing with fire alarm control panels. Achieving connectivity between system components via wireless, telephone, or Ethernet communications. Ability to meet NFPA life safety requirements. Interested parties should provide the following information: System capabilities and component description. Discussion of both indoor and outdoor audio notification capabilities. Verification of compliance with UFC 4-021-01 and discussion of abilities to meet additional requirements discussed above. Provide brief history of prior DoD experience. Provide at least 5 references of previous customers at DoD installations and a brief synopsis of the installations. Interested vendor's responses shall not exceed five (5) pages and shall be in MS Word format. Responses from manufacturers choosing to participate will be utilized to evaluate capabilities of various COTS MNS. Procurement of equipment and material IS NOT part of this request. NO REIMBURSEMENT WILL BE MADE FOR ANY COSTS ASSOCIATED WITH THE PROVISION OF THE INFORMATION REQUESTED IN RESPONSE TO THIS ANNOUNCEMENT, NOR ANY FOLLOW-UP INFORMATION REQUESTS.
