- NOTICE OF INTENT TO AWARD A SOLE SOURCE CONTRACT TO Pierce Manufacturing, Inc., 2600 American Dr, Appleton, WI, 54914, for services to revitalize, and upgrade one 1989 Pierce Dash Walk-in Heavy Rescue, UNDER AUTHORITY OF FAR 13.501(a)(1). The Regional Contracting Office, Southwest (RCO SW), Camp Pendleton, California intends to award a firm-fixed price contract to said name company. The value of this award is estimated to be $150,000.00. The purpose of this action is to maintain the integrity of the United States Marine Corps fleet fire departments by ensuring work be performed by the original manufacturer (Pierce Manufacturing Inc.). To make certain the same components are utilized and are compatible with existing frame accessories, the modifications must be designed and engineered for proper support by the original vehicle chassis. Pierce Manufacturing has access to the original build records including drawings, sheet metal layouts, chassis components, axel weights, etc. which are vital for making modifications. This notice is not a request for competitive proposals. This Notice is not a request for Expressions of Interest (EOIs), proposals or quotations. No solicitation document exists and no telephone inquiries will be accepted. No contract award will be made on the basis of EOIs, proposals or quotations received in response to this notice. This purchase will be under Simplified Acquisition Procedures and Other Than Full and Open Competition as authorized under FAR 6.302-1. The anticipated award date is 7 August 2006.
