Description
The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, Mid-Continent Ecology Division, 6201 Congdon Boulevard, Duluth, Minnesota, requires conversion of a Constant Volume Air System to a Variable Volume Air System. The intent of this work is to convert AHU-1 from a constant volume system to a variable volume system. The contractor shall remove all ductwork and reheat piping in the project area. The contractor shall also remove exhaust ductwork and fans associated with the fume hoods, etc. in the project area. The contractor shall install new supply ductwork, laboratory air valves and reheat coils, and furnish new piping for the reheat coils. The contractor shall install new exhaust ductwork connected to the fume hoods, etc. The contractor shall furnish new exhaust ductwork, on the roof, and a new high plume exhaust fan assembly, consisting of stack exhaust fans with 100% redundancy. The contractor shall provide DDC controls for the interface with the Phoenix system. The contractor shall balance all new systems and AHU-1. The contractor shall furnish new sprinkler heads in the project area and relocate existing piping as necessary to accommodate new work. The contractor shall also remove all electrical wiring associated with the mechanical equipment and lighting that will be removed. The contractor shall furnish new electrical connections for all new mechanical equipment and lighting. The contractor shall remove and replace all ceilings as required to complete the MEP work. The Project will be phased to minimize down time within the labs. A firm-fixed price contract is anticipated. Contract award will be made using best value methodology. Two evaluation factors will be used: Past Performance and Price. The evaluation factors will be approximately equal in importance. The anticipated contract performance period is 18 months after receipt of notice to proceed. The estimated price of the work is between $500,000 and $1,000,000. All responsible sources may submit a proposal which will be considered by the Agency. All prospective offerors are required to be registered in the Central Contractor Registration system in order to be eligible for contract award.
