Description

The United States Special Operations Command (USSOCOM) located at MacDill Air Force Base, Florida plans to award a sole source contract to Raytheon Network Centric Systems, Fort Wayne, IN, to produce the Rugged Embedded National Tactical Receiver (ENTR) Device (RED). The production of RED must meet all the requirements of the Rugged ENTR Device (RED) performance specification, dated 1 June 2005, and incorporate a second serial channel. The government must be able to award a production contract to meet immediate requirements for a RED system without impact to schedule and without incurring any costs other than the procurement of the RED system. Raytheon Network Centric Systems, Fort Wayne, IN is the developer and only known source that can meet these requirements, as the RED design is proprietary to them. This synopsis does not constitute a Request for Proposals, and is not to be construed as a commitment by the Government to issue an order. Providers of requested information are asked to respond within 30 days of this announcement. See note 22.
