- Description
- This solicitation is for construction of a trench. The Forest Service, Savannah River, Short Rotation Woody Crop Program will install a trench to monitor runoff through the soil profile. The work for this contract, involves excavation of the trench. The work is located on Oldhouse Road and will include excavating 10 adjacent trench sections along the slope contour for a total of length of 387 feet. Each section will involve; excavating a trench 18 inches below the clay layer, installing a sloping perforated pipe in the bottom of the trench, covering the pipe with coarse gravel, installing an outlet drain sloping perpendicular to the contour away from the section, locating a berm between adjacent sections, and placing a weir will on the outlet where it appears at the surface. Three sets of access stairs will be located along the trench. Some shaping of the ground will be required. The size standard for this unrestricted solicitation is $13 million under NAICS code 238910. The magnitude of this project is between $25,000 and $100,000. Solicitation should be available at this website on or about 5 Jul 2005. SRS is a restricted access Government facility. A minimum of 72 hours notification is required to process any security badge requests for U.S. Citizens and up to 30 days could be required for non-U.S. citizens.
