All stone shall be delivered by truck to the various delivery locations stated above. The contractor shall initiate delivery operations within seven (7) days after notification of contract award. Delivery shall be at the rate of not less than 500 tons pe r day, with all stone (approx. 25,450 tons) to be delivered NO LATER THAN 31 October 2006. Upon request to the contracting Officer, a site visit to the dumping sites may be arranged prior to the closing date of the solicitation. Measurement for all stone delivered to the site for payment will be accomplished by use of certified scales and provision of scale tickets to the governments on-site representative. The Contractor shall be responsible for obtaining any transport permits necessary and required for transport of material by way of county, state, or other public roads. Multiple awards may result from this solicitation. Award will be made for the items or combination of items that result in the lowest aggregate cost to the Government. Award shall be made to the responsive and responsible offeror whose quote is determined to be the lowest price. FAR Provision 52.212-1, Instructions to Offerors - Commercial, applies to this acquisition. Offerors must include a completed copy of the provision at FAR 52.212-3, Offeror Representations and Certifications-Commercial Items with this offer.
