- The purpose of this modification to the Sole Source announcement is to change the number of LeCroy WaveRunner Oscilloscopes the Government plans to purchase. The number is changed from two (2) to four (4). There are no other changes to this Sole Source announcement. XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX The solicitation number is FA8601-06-T-0121. This is a SOLE SOURCE procurement and the purpose of this solicitation is for information only. Any responses are due by 12:00 NOON (Eastern Standard Time), Friday, 11 Aug 2006, to the point of contact identified at the end of this notice. The Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 13.106-1(b)(1) and 6.302-1(a)(2)(iii). The proposed source is LeCroy Corporation, Chestnut Ridge, NY. The proposed contract is for the purchase of two (2) WaveRunner 64XI Oscilloscopes. Justification for the Sole Source: The WaveRunner 64XI Oscilloscopes are the only known oscilloscopes with the capabilities and specifications listed below. These capabilities and specifications are necessary to meet the needs of an Air Force Institute of Technology (AFIT) Teaching Laboratory program. -Must be able to customize the internal mathematical capability of the scope to allow real-time programming and answers that can be directly viewed on the scope display, with the following languages: Mathead, Matlab, C++, Visual Basic, and/or Excel. -Must have up to eight (8) viewing grids for display of up to 8 (eight) traces simultaneously. -Must have a 10.4 inch color touch screen -Must have a quad zoom capability -Must have a 600 MHz bandwidth on all 4 (four) channels -Must have a 5 GS/s sample rate on all 4 (four) channels simultaneously with the capability to interleave 2 of the channels to achieve 10 GS/s on 2 (two) channels. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotations; however, any quotation received by the due date stated in this notice will be considered by the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the Government's discretion. The Government reserves the right not to make an award at all. There are no attachments to this announcement.
