- Questions/Answers/Clarificatons: QUESTION: I am contacting you to inquire about the RFQ referenced above for a qty of 3 RF Power amplifiers Model GCS313JK4 from Empower Corp. From the announcement below, the specs are unclear for us to provide a bid, and the Empower P/N is not a known COTS part number. Can you advise us with any additional specifications regarding the units that would enable our company, Amplifier Research, to submit a bid for this procurement? A datasheet would be be adequate if available. ANSWER: GCS313JK4 is the part number that was given to me from Empower. I believe that it is a COTS part. The same performance specification was provided to each vendor. Each vendor is required to provide the detail specification for their amplifier. Empower will not provide a detail specification until after the contract award QUESTION: Empower model GCS313JK4, I am curious if we could find out more in regards to specifications. Empower does not appear to show a model number equal to this but there are some that are close. In particular, I am trying to verify the following: Is this a ?module? package? ANSWER: This unit needs to be 19 inch rack mounted, powered by 48 VDC or 120 VAC, and have ?N? connectors on the input and output. QUESTION: Will this need to have the same basic spec?s as something like the 3055-GCM313KEM version??? If possible, a spec sheet would be helpful to us to determine if we can offer an equivalent unit. ANSWER: The same performance specification was provided to each vendor. Each vendor is required to provide the detail specification for their amplifier. QUESTION: With reference to this solicitation we a couple of questions. 1- You call out our part number GCS3I3JK4. This is a frequency of 400-450 MHz, with 100 watts of output power and 10 dB of gain. This is a minimum configuration. Is this correct.. ANSWER: Yes This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial item prepared in accordance with the format in Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; proposals are being requested and a written solicitation WILL NOT be issued. The Request for Quotation number is HSCG89-06-Q-65D095 and incorporates provisions and clauses in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular 2005-11. This acquisition is unrestricted. The NAICS is 335999. The contract type will be a firm fixed price purchase order. The Government proposes to solicit quotes Three(3) each ? Empower RF Amplifier model GCS313JK4(or equal). Amplifier must meet or exceed the following specifications: Power Output: 5 Watts, Frequency: 400 MHz to 450 MHz, Modulation: DQPSK, Data Capacity: E1 (2.408 Mbps), Instantaneous bandwidth: Approx. 1.75MHz. The input to power amplifier shall be 5 watts. The output of the power amplifier shall be 50 watts or greater. The output spectrum shall be in compliance with European Telecommunications. Standard Institute ETS 300 630 and ETS 300 633. The minimum configuration shall be Class A biased amplifier with 100 watts of CW output. The amplifier shall be a Commercial off the shelf (COTS) unit. IF QUOTING SUBSTITUTE ITEM, OFFEROR MUST PROVIDE SPECIFICATION FOR ITEM BEING OFFERED SO THAT A ADEQUATE COMPARISON.
