Description
This is a solicitation notice for a proposed construction contract for the removing and replacement of existing steam and condensate return line at the American Lake Division of the VA Puget Sound Health Care System. The steam line and condensate line are approximately 1100 feet in length in a covered trench with approximately 3 feet of top fill. A new manhole will be provided for a future connection to a proposed new building. The VA is seeking a general contractor to provide all labor, materials, tools, equipment, and supervision for the proposed contract. Work will include, but is not limited to, the following: excavation, demolition, plumbing, welding, civil work, paving, and grounds restoration. . There will be a pre-bid site inspection o/a August 30, 2006 at 10 AM in Building 6 Room 226, Puget Sound Health Care System, American Lake Division, 9600 Veterans Drive, Tacoma, WA. The construction cost range is $250,000 to $500,000. Contract completion time will be 90 calendar days from the date of the Notice to Proceed. The VA anticipates awarding a firm, fixed price contract. This will be a 100% Small disabled Veteran Owned business set aside solicitation. The NAICS classification is 238220. The small business size standard is $13.5 million average annual receipts for 3 preceding fiscal years. Construction document bid packages will be available o/a August 18, 2006. As authorized by FAR 5.102(a)(7), solicitation dissemination is limited to electronic medium, and VA will provide no hard copies. The solicitation, consisting of various bid documents, specifications, forms, and drawings will be available for download at no charge at the Builders Exchange of Washington website, http://www.bxwa.com. Address all questions in writing to the contracting officer; no telephone inquiries can be accepted. Bid opening date will be September 18, 2006 at 2 PM in Room 226, Building 6 at the American Lake Division of the VA Puget Sound Health Care System, 9600 Veterans Way; Tacoma, WA 98493.
