- Fabrication and Installation of Interpretive Exhibits at U.S. Army Corps of Engineers project Visitor Center at Cochiti Lake, Pena Blanca, New Mexico. Competition for this acquisition is 100% small business set-aside and only responses from small bu siness concerns will be considered. This is a firm-fixed price contract, NAICS is 238390, SIC Code 1799, with a size standard of $13,000,000. The project consists of providing all management, equipment, labor, materials, travel and facilities necessary t o fabricate and install interpretive exhibits at U.S. Army Corps of Engineers project at Cochiti Lake, Pena Blanca, New Mexico. The Visitor Center is approximately 1010 square feet. Work includes the following exhibit features: Exhibit A. A touchable topographic model will be produced. The model contains approximately 8,000 fiber optic lights keyed to audiovisual programs (to be produced by this contract). Three programs with images and narration will correspond to the activit y of the fiber optics. The images will show on a flat screen TV attached to an adobe brick structure. A panel with three buttons will allow visitors to select one of three programs. The topographic model will show the state of New Mexico and include portions of the surrounding states/country. The model will be on pedestal with casters to allow placement into and removal from the structure housing the model. The exhibit will be housed in an adobe ruin-type structure, constructed with authentic adobe bricks. Also within this exhibit is a framed digital panel depicting the entire Rio Grande and a framed digital photo. A video player will be programmed to coordinate all the activity. Scrip ts and all source images will be provided by the Corps. Exhibit B. This exhibit will consist of a series of four digital panels mounted into a support structure. The support structure contains a carpet-lined trough to hold touchable items. Exhibit C. This exhibit includes three framed digital panels and a wall-mounted oak counter. The exhibit also includes an audiovisual program (to be produced by this contract) started by motion sensor. The program will be displayed on a monitor. Shootin g of original video footage for this exhibit is part of this contract. Exhibit D. This exhibit will consist of fiberglass fish models (northern pike, walleye, catfish, largemouth bass and crappie) mounted on rods projecting out from a 50 square foot mural. Contract includes painting the mural. The exhibit also includes a f ramed digital panel and a wall-mounted oak counter. The counter holds an interactive display using cast animal tracks and digital images of animals. Sensors respond when the visitor correctly aligns an animal track with the proper animal photo. Exhibit E. This exhibit will consist of digital panels and painted MDF panels cut to custom shapes and assembled to create a 9 foot tall cartoon-style sailboat. The assembled sailboat will rest on casters and be hinged to a stationary aluminum pole that r epresents the boat mast. Layouts of all digital panels will be completed by the exhibit designer and be ready for output by the exhibit fabricator. THE PROJECT will be advertised as an Invitation for Bid (IFB). The IFB Plans will be issued on or about August 18, 2006, with bid opening on or about September 18, 2006.
