Description
The National Park Service will be conducting a one-day site visit of the facilities and services associated with the solicitation for proposals for the operation of lodging, retail, food and beverage, RV campground, service station, and other visitor services at Stovepipe Wells and Scotty's Castle within Death Valley National Park. The site visit will be conducted on August 25, 2006 and will begin with an orientation of the services and facilities included in the new Concession Contract. The orientation will start at 7:00 a.m. at the Furnace Creek Auditorium located between the Park Headquarters building and the Visitor Center. Participants will then caravan to Stovepipe Wells and continue onto Scotty's Castle. Participants should expect to eat lunch at Stovepipe Wells. Additionally, at the end of the day the National Park Service will provide an optional tour of Scotty's Castle for all interested parties. Please contact Trina Lapinsky, Concession Management Specialist, at (760) 786-3236 for further information regarding the site visit. Additionally, any offer, including that of the existing Concessioner, must be received by the Concessions Program Manager, National Park Service, Pacific West Region, 1111 Jackson Street, Suite 700, Oakland, CA 94607 no later than ninety-one (91) days after the date of the original publication in order to be evaluated and considered for an award of a Concession Contract. The prospectus was issued July 18, 2006, for a 91-day response period under the terms described in the prospectus, with proposals due on October 17, 2006, no later than 4:00 p.m. (Pacific Time). There is a printing cost recovery charge of $50 per copy to be delivered via Federal Express or $40 per copy if picked up in person. Checks or money orders (no cash accepted) must be payable to the National Park Service; and you must include a business address (no post office box) to receive a Federal Express package. Prospectus packages will be available by contacting Anne Dubinsky, Concession Chief, Pacific West Region Concessions, 1111 Jackson St., Suite 700, Oakland, CA 94607.
