Description

Construction of a new Postal Facility, LaFollette, TN located on the corner of State Route 63 and Foothills Drive. The building will contain approximately 8,800 sq ft The work includes, but is not limited to, five steel columns and I beam, wood stud structure on exterior walls, concrete pavement, masonry, carpentry, wood truss roof system, asphalt shingle roofing, insulation, impact doors at vestibule, interior wood stud walls, gyp board, vinyl tile flooring, carpet, polished hard coat sealer on concrete slab, lay-in ceiling tiles, painting, store fixtures, landscaping, electrical, mechanical, utilities and other work associated with postal facilities. Bonds must be received within 10 days from receipt of Intent to Award. Notice to Proceed with construction will be issued no later than October 10, 2006. Contractors will be evaluated based on references showing similar construction experience. Reference is made to Clause B-38, Accident Prevention. All construction work on projects must be performed in compliance with the Occupational Safety and Health Act (OSHA) of 1970. If the USPS is fined for OSHA violations caused by the contractor, the contractor shall pay the fine or reimburse the USPS for the amount of the fine. The subcontracting goals for this contract is a minimum of 10% for minority-owned businesses, a minimum of 40% for small business enterprises, and minimum of 7% for women-owned businesses in accordance with solicitation Section H.20. Participation with women owned businesses and minority owned businesses is encouraged. Minimum Years in Business: Your company must have been in business, under the firm?s present name, for a minimum of five (5) consecutive years. No Proposal Guarantee (Bid Bond) is required but a letter from your bonding company and bank ARE required (see Offerors Submittal Information). A 100% Performance Bond and a 100% Payment Bond will be required of the successful offeror. Cost range: $1,955,000 - $2,400,000 Const. time: 220 calendar days.
