Description

The Food and Drug Administration intends to award a Purchase Order on a sole source basis to Rockville Steel & Manufacturing Co., based on the authority granted by FAR Part 6.302-1, to retrofit animal housing modules. The modifications will be to existing cages specially designed, manufactured and supplied by the contractor Rockville Steel & Manufacturing Co. for the CBER Division of Veterinary Services. The purpose to this modification is to install openings on each cage to allow the animals to pass from one cage to another when 2 units are joined together, 20 racks will have collection trays added for animal waste. The manufacturer of these primate units, Rockville Steel & Manufacturing Co., is the expert and has the knowledge of this specific caging design that will provide expeditious turn around for completion of the repaired units. An award will be made in ten (10) days from the date of this notice. Sources may submit a quote, which fully demonstrate their capabilities, which will be considered by the agency. A determination to compete this procurement based on a response to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. All responses or questions regarding this posting must be in writing and can be sent via email to Alice.Pagan@fda.hhs.gov. No phone calls will be accepted. This sole source procurement will be awarded as a simplified acquisition for commercial items in accordance with FAR Subpart 13.5.
