- This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for the purchase of a brand name Eppendorf epMotion 5070 or equal Automated Liquid Handling Workstation, prepared in accordance with the format in FAR 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation and a separate written solicitation will not be issued. This solicitation, No. RFQ-NCI-60113-NV includes all applicable provisions and clauses in effect through FAR FAC 2005-11. The North American Industry Classification code is 334516, and the business size standard is 500 employees. This solicitation is not set-aside for small businesses. The following salient characteristics apply: 1) Optical Sensor for the detection of all tubes, plates and other labware. The optical sensor will also detect tip-type and avoid empty spaces; 2) Liquid Level detection using the optical sensor that can economize solutions and consumables, and prevent incomplete runs that must be aborted due to shortages of solutions; 3)Unlimited memory expansion. With the use of MultiMediaCards; 4) Programmable via the control panel supplied with instrument; 5) Graphical user interface on the control panel; 6) Flexible programming - Can transfer liquids from tubes to plates and plates to tubes, ability to re-array plates; 7) Wide variety of accessories including tube-holders, plate holders and reagent reservoirs; 8) Wide variety of different tools available, such as single channel and multichannel pipetting heads; 9) Flexible Features that enable a single machine to be used by a number of researchers, for a wide variety of applications; 10)Comapct size (80cm @ x 60 cm L x 103 cm H that can fit in the labs standard cell culture cabinet; 11) software updates available via the internet; and 12) 1 year warranty. Delivery shall be FOB destination and inside delivery to the NIH Laboratory in Bethesda, Maryland within 60 days of receipt of purchase order is required. Offers of ?equal? products, including ?equal? products of the brand name manufacturer, must meet the salient physical, functional, or performance characteristic specified in this solicitation; identify the item by (i) Brand name, if any; and (ii) Make or model number. In accordance with FAR 52.211-6 offerors must include descriptive literature such as illustrations, drawings, or a clear reference to previously furnished descriptive data or information available to the Contracting Officer; and clearly describe any modification the offeror plans to make in a product to make it conform to the solicitation requirements. Mark any descriptive material to clearly show the modification.
