Description
NAVAIR Orlando TSD intends to award a sole source Firm Fixed Price contract to Computer Science Corporation (CSC) for the acquisition of the Littoral Combat Ship (LCS) Portable Console Trainer. The trainer will be designed to easily integrate with existing COVE III trainers which will enhance the capabilities of the COVE III systems and also provide LCS training capability that will supplement the LCS full mission bridge trainer also located at SWOS. CSC will be responsible for develop, deliver, install, and test the trainer. This sole source award is based on FAR part 6.302-1 Only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirement. Anticipated award date is 30 September, 2006 and the period of performance is 3 months. The estimated dollar value for this effort is $ 150K. The LCS portable console shall provide the following: a. The console shall support training at the Officer?s of the Deck station. b. The console shall be used in association with the available displays and software installed at a SWOS COVE III simulator station. c. The console shall be designed so that it can be installed in an existing COVE III simulator station. It shall be possible to switch the station configuration between the existing COVE III configuration and the LCS configuration within thirty minutes. d. The console and displays shall be desktop units with monitor stands and COTS tables. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. Interested parties may identify their interest and submit technical information and technical capability statement in response to this notice. Navair Orlando Contracts shall consider all response. Proprietary data in the response will be protected where so designated. Any response to this synopsis will be treated as information only. No entitlement to payment of direct or indirect costs or charges by the Government will arise as a result of contractor submission of responses to this synopsis or the Government for use of such information.
