Description
Sources Sought for the following types of contractors: 8(a), Hubzone, and Service Disabled Veteran contractors for the design and construction of a HIGH PERFORMANCE CONTAINER STUFFING PAD/READY SERVICE MAGAZINE. Estimated cost of construction is between $4,000,000 and $6,000,000. Project scope includes construction of a 12,000 SF modular explosive storage magazine consisting of six individual reinforced concrete chambers of 20 ft. X 80 ft. with two leafs of 12ft. X 15 ft. hinged steel blast doors utilizing a site adapted standard earth covered explosive storage magazine design provided by the Government. Additional work includes construction of a reinforced concrete pad approx. 220 ft. X 300 ft. X 12 in. thick, two earth barricades, relocation of an existing asphalt highway, relocation of utilities including an existing 69 KVA high voltage line, construction of a new rail spur from an existing track, and demolition of a 12,000 SF reinforced concrete building. Site work includes extensive excavation of sandstone (blasting will not be permitted). Experience with NAVSEA OP5 Volume 1, ?Ammunition and Explosives Safety Ashore? is required. The standard design for each chamber of the magazine can be found on the following website: http://www.wbdg.org/design/am_rcbox-msm.php Interested contractors shall submit information demonstrating relevant design and construction past performance in similar type projects; technical qualifications and experience and bonding capacity for this project. Evaluation factors for award after issuance of the RFP will include a Design Solution Narrative, Conceptual Site Plan, Conceptual Building Design, Schedule, and Construction and Demolition Narrative. Information must be received by this office not later than 2:00 PM CST on July 28, 2006. This is not a request for proposal. This is a sources sought notice for potential set-aside.
