- The VAPHS intends to negotiate on a sole source basis with Rak Medical Inc, 618 Beaver Street STE 103 Sewickley, PA 15143 for two (2) Anspach Black Max Instrument Systems consisting of two (2) each Blackmax swivel/Ang Motor Assy, Autolube III w/foot control, sterilization case w/tray, attachment cleaning brush, 11 CM angle attachment, 11.25 CM attachment, 5.9 CM attachment, standard craniotome and Blackmax Manuals. This high speed drill system is used for the rapid dissection of bone, biometals, bioplastics and cement. Neurosurgery will be the primary user, however, other specialities such as orthopedics will benefit from this drill system. The unique qualities offered by this system are an inline oiling system, preloaded bearings, and it provides 80,000 rpm, with precision and control.
