Description

The Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center, VISN 10 Acquisition & Management Service, intends to negotiate a sole source procurement with Case Western Reserve University (CWRU) for the purchase of technical services providing biomedical engineering skills to study and to replace individual functional blocks of a large, complex ocular motor system model with more biologically relevant blocks. The Government intends to solicit and negotiate with one source under the authority of FAR 13.501. The VA believes that CWRU is the only company that can provide these services. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotes. No solicitation document is available and telephone requests will not be accepted. However, any firm that believes it can meet these requirements may give written notification to the Contracting Officer within 7 days from the date of publication of this announcement. Supporting evidence must be in sufficient detail to demonstrate the ability to comply with the technical complexity of this requirement. Information may be sent to the Contracting Office 90C, Cleveland VA Medical Center, Brecksville, Ohio 44141. Responses received will be evaluated; however, a determination by the Government to compete the proposed procurement based on the responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. If no responses are received, the Cleveland VA Medical Center will proceed with the sole source negotiation with CWRU.
