Description

The Great Lakes Acquisition Center (GLAC) intends to negotiate a sole source contract with Boston Scientific Corp of Maple Grove MN for the purchase and installation of an iLab? Ultrasound Imaging System for the Jesse Brown VA Medical Center, Chicago Illinois. This procurement is being conducted in accordance with FAR 6.302-1, only one responsible source and no other vendor will satisfy agency requirements. NAICS 339111. To the best of our knowledge, Boston Scientific is the only source that can provide this intravascular ultrasound system (IVUS) which allows for direct operator control at the cath lab table; has an automated mechanical pull back feature; Intra-Cardiac (ICE) Imaging Capabilities used for intra-cardiac imaging, a tableside controller, motor drive unit, 19? display monitor and acquisition PC mounted on it that is installed within the procedure room. Software with upgradeable capabilities shall include TraceAssist? - Dynamic Review? - Smart TCG? and advanced arching options such as Archives completed cases on CD, DVD, removable hard drive or DICOM network . This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotes. No solicitation document is available and telephone requests will not be accepted. However, any firm that believes it can meet these requirements may give written notification to the Contracting Officer within seven (7) calendar days from the date of publication of this synopsis. Supporting evidence must be furnished in sufficient detail, to demonstrate the ability to comply with the above requirements. Information can be sent to the Contracting Officer, VAMC-GLAC, Building 5, 5000 W. National Ave. Bldg. 5, Milwaukee WI 53295 or via fax to (414) 902-5440. Responses received will be evaluated however; a determination by the Government not to compete the proposed procurement based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. If no responses are received, the GLAC will proceed with the sole source negotiation with Boston Scientific.
