- THIS SPECIAL NOTICE IS NOT A REQUEST FOR PROPOSAL. It is a product qualification opportunity. The Naval Air Warfare Center Weapons Division, China Lake, CA intends to procure Digital Transmitters as a component of a telemetry system for the Sidewinder Missile project in approximately summer 2007. Product must be qualified before contract award. A minimum of 100 units will be ordered and a maximum of 750 units may be ordered over the five-year period of performance. The digital transmitters must meet the required form, fit, and function requirements of specification AS6069A with SCN A1, NOR 25379.1, and Drawing 639AS9452 Revision D, for a pre-existing missile telemetry fabrication package. The digital transmitters shall also meet JF-12 frequency management requirements and be TEMPEST certified in accordance with NACSEM 5201. The digital transmitters shall be fixed-deviation telemetry transmitters operating into a nominal 50-ohm load on a specified frequency in the ultra-high frequency (UHF) telemetry band from 2200.5 to 2259.5 megahertz (MHz). The digital transmitter operates on the normal aircraft or missile 28-volt direct-current (Vdc) power supply. Input to the transmitter is TTL signals at a bit rate of 1 megabit per second (Mb/s), ?5 percent. The digital transmitter center frequency is selectable, to allow selection of any center frequency, in accordance with the standard bandwidth channels specified in IRIG 106. This requirement is for components of a pre-designed telemetry section on the Sidewinder Missile System. To qualify a product under specification AS-6069A with SCN A1, NOR 25379.1, and drawing 639AS9452D, the contractor shall, at their own expense, perform all qualification test required and submit five (5) units that meet all the requirements of specification AS-6069A, SCN A1, NOR 25379.1, and drawing 639AS9452D; and submit all test data for the qualification units to the procuring activity for evaluation. The! contractor must also furnish any additional information requested ay the procuring activity. The qualification units shall be manufactured using the same methods, materials, parts, processes, equipment, and procedures proposed for production. Each qualification unit shall meet all specified requirements. Failure of any qualification unit to meet any of the requirements shall be cause for rejection. The contractor will be notified approximately 30 days after the submission of the product and test data, whether the product passed or failed the qualification testing.
