Description
Plans are available for $200.00 per set (non refundable Company check or money order payable to the Disbursing Office, USPS) from the Northeast Facilities Service Office, 6 Griffin Road North, Windsor, CT 06006-0300 for work that includes, but is not limited to, providing all material, labor and equipment necessary to complete building renovations to expand the existing carrier annex into adjacent vacant space; included are concrete, masonry, steel, roof repairs, doors, windows, finishes, mechanical and electrical at property known as the Cambridge - Porter Square Carrier Annex and located at 15 Mooney Street, Cambridge, Suffolk County, Massachusetts. The estimated cost of the work is between $2,500,000.00 and $3,400,000.00 with construction completion no later than 300 calendar days after receipt of the Notice to Proceed. There will be a preproposal meeting held on site (15 Mooney Street, Cambridge) on Friday, August 25, 2006 beginning at 10:00 a.m. to discuss this project. Attendance is not mandatory but is strongly suggested. Technical inquiries are to be addressed to the Project Architect, Ned Taylor of McKinnell, McKinnell & Taylor at (781) 878-6223 or to the Project Manager, Edward O'Connell at (603) 427-6283. This is not a formal invitation for bid; therefore, no bid bond or proposal guarantee is required. All offerors are required to submit a completed qualification package along with a Company Health and Safety Plan which will be part of the evaluation process. Prior to award, the successful contractor will be required to submit a project specific safety plan acceptable to the USPS Contracting Officer. In accordance with USPS contracting requirements, the successful contractor will be required to submit a small, minority and woman-owned business subcontracting plan before Notice to Proceed will be issued. Please note that the successful contractor is expected to recruit subcontracting proposals from minority and woman-owned businesses as well as small businesses in order for the plan to be accepted. Also note that the USPS Northeast Area Environmental Health and Safety Guide Checklist must be reviewed, completed and signed by both the USPS Facility Manager and a representative of the successful contractor before work can begin. Since construction time will exceed sixty (60) days, the contractor is bound by Contractor's Screening Requirements.
