Description
The U.S. Coast Guard Engineering Logistics Center has a requirement for various Fairbanks Morse parts for Fairbanks Morse Engine Model Nos. 38D8-1/8 and 38TD8-1/8. The engines are installed for main propulsion on the U.S. Coast Guard 140 FT WTGB and 378 FT WHEC Class Vessels. Delivery shall be required 120-220 calendar days after receipt of delivery order. Delivery will be F.O.B. destination to the U.S. Coast Guard Engineering Logistics Center, Receiving Room, Bldg. 88, 2401Hawkins Point Road, Baltimore, MD 21226-5000. A requirements type contract with one (1) base year and four (4) option years is anticipated. It is the Government’s belief that only BF Goodrich, Fairbanks Morse Engine Division posseses the required capabilities to manufacture engine parts that are compatible and interchangeable with Fairbanks Morse Engine Model Nos. 38D8-1/8 and 38TD8-1/8. All reproduction manufacturing drawings, specifications and other technical data pertaining to the various engine parts are not available within the government and are proprietary to the Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM), BF Goodrich, Fairbanks Morse Engine Division. However, other potential sources having expertise and required capabilities can submit such data discussing the same in duplicate within 15 days from date of this announcement. The following information must be provided to evaluate the acceptability of the offered parts: 1) Complete and current engineering data to demonstrate the acceptability of the offered parts (i.e. salient physical, functional characteristics, or 2) Data that offered parts have been satisfactorily manufactured for the Government or the original equipment manufacturer. No cost or pricing is required. See Numbered Note 22. All responsible sources may submit a bid, which will be considered by the agency.
