Description
Chemical inventory and management system for tracking research compounds from receipt through disposal. The system must operate on MS SQL Server? Database Management Systems and provide disposal tracking capabilities that maintain a permanent record of all disposed containers with a hierarchical location structure that includes 5 levels of a location structure. It must provide weight tracking algorithms for reporting total material in standard units and provide an unlimited number of user defined properties and fields to allow administrators to extend the material attributes/definitions in the program. The system must provide the ability to set maximum and minimum threshold limits for hazardous materials and provide fields for flagging and reporting of SARA, TIER-2 and Form-R materials. It must track formulations and store a list of ingredients to produce batch records for scale-ability and provide a highly flexible security model with fully customizable username/ password support. The system must include a Purchasing/Receiving module for accurate materials management and cost management. The system must interface with Mettler balances and have an automatic email notification capability to monitor expiration dates, re-order points, and maximum inventory levels exceeded. The system must have an integrated remote inventory bar coding module to program the Videx LaserLite Pro remote scanner and have structure and sub-structure searching capabilities. The system must support wired scanner capabilities using Operation specific functions. The system must include pre-loaded vendor catalogs from Sigma-Aldrich, Fisher Scientific, VWR, and their subsidiaries and have direct links to MSDS URL?s for Sigma-Aldrich, Fisher, & VWR (MSDS & Document Storage Module required), as well as provide Uniform Fire Code Reporting for hazardous materials. The system must provide the ability for Splitting/Aliquot containers and the capability to generate pick lists and schedule movements of materials. The system must support the ability to generate unique bar codes for all incoming materials and provide the ability to have multiple sizes of labels for both small and large containers. The system must be able to track Equipment, Supply, Non-Chemical, and Chemical records in a single inventory system and provide a color-coded storage compatibility system to perform visual lab audits and determine proper storage of Acids, Bases, Organic Acids, Inorganic Acids, Oxidizing Inorganic Acids, Toxics, & Flammables. The system must be able to track both open dates and expiration dates for all containers and expiration intervals must be pre-defined at the material level and subsequently passed on to containers as they are received or opened. The system must provide an inventory tool for performing initial inventories of legacy containers not in the current system. The system must provide a material review feature to allow environmental, health and safety (EH&S) staff to review material information ensuring that all required safety data is defined for each record. The system must include a simple Dynamic Report writer to allow users and administrators to easily create reports in HTML or export to Excel and provide an in-line filtering capability for all users to specify the variety of parameters prior to the output of the report. The system must have RFID - Radio Frequency ID labeling capabilities for advanced material tracking and labeling strategies and provide the ability to set up ?Scan Stations? which update the database directly.
