Description
The Warren Grant Magnuson Center (CC), National Institutes of Health has a requirement for a contractor to provide laundry services for the NIH Clinical Center, Children?s Inn and Family Lodge. Specifically, the contractor shall pick up, launder and return government owned laundry and garments totally free from soil, stains and known pathogenic organisms 365 days per year. The NIH Clinical Center is the hospital of the NIH consisting of 234 inpatient beds, 81 day hospital stations, outpatient clinics, diagnostic and treatment areas, and public waiting areas. The contractor shall be responsible for the Clinical Center laundry which will include lab coats, sheets, towels, pillow cases, blankets, OR laundry and OR scrubs. The Children?s Inn at NIH (Building 62) has 72 rooms with 146 double beds, 19 queen size sleepers and 30 standard size cribs. The average daily occupancy is 80%. The Edmund J. Safra Family Lodge (Building 65), referred to as the Family Lodge, is a 35 room inn which houses families and support individuals for patients who are presently admitted to the Clinical Center. The average daily occupancy level is 90%. The contractor shall be responsible for Children?s Inn and Family Lodge laundry that includes sheets, towels, wash cloths, pillow cases, bed spreads and blankets. The Clinical Center estimates the following total weekly quantities of laundry; Bulk Linen ? 15,638lbs, Children?s Inn Linen ? 1,404lbs, Family Lodge ? 1,404lbs, Lab Coats ? 135, Surgical Gowns ? 6, Scrub Shirts ? 300, Scrub Pants ? 300, OR Bulk Linen ? 200lbs, Table Cloths ? 3, Family Lodge Bedspreads ? 2, Family Lodge Blankets ? 2, Children?s Inn Dust Ruffles ? 3. The Contractor shall furnish all labor, services, equipment and facilities required to perform. The period of performance will be for a basic twelve (12) month period, with options to renew for four (4) additional twelve (12) month periods. This requirement is set-aside for small business concerns under the applicable NAICS code 812332. All responsible sources may submit a bid, proposal, or quotation which shall be considered by the agency. It is anticipated that the solicitation will be released fifteen (15) days after this synopsis publication.
