Description

The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) intends to award a non-competitive, sole source contract to Tecan U.S. Inc., a subsidiary of Tecan U.S. Group, Inc., 4022 Stirrup Creek Drive, Suite 310, Durham, NC 22703. Tecan shall provide Te-MO Multichannel Pipetting Apparatus as an add-on to the Tecan robotic workstations currently in use at the FBI. In addition the vendor shall provide training, maintenance (both on-site repair and routine preventative maintenance), installation and telephone support for routine day-to-day questions. The Te-MO Multichannel pipetting apparatus is the only product that can be integrated into the current Tecan robotic workstation platforms as other peripherals are not compatible with the Tecan robotic workstations. Based on extensive market research conducted with knowledgeable individuals in Government and the related industry, only one responsible source can provide the requested services. This Notice of Intent is not a request for competitive quotations, however interested parties may identify their interests and capability to respond to this requirement or submit quotes to this office by 9:00 AM, EST, Friday, August 25, 2006, via facsimile to the attention of Mr. Bryan V. Lane, Contracting Officer, at (703) 632-8071. E-mail quotes will also be accepted at blane@fbiacademy.edu . Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. The North American Industrial Classification System number is 541710, the size standard is 500 employees. This contract will be awarded as a commercial item in accordance with Federal Acquisition Regulation, Parts 12 and 13. All contractors anticipating award, must be registered in the Central Contractor Registration Database.
