- Description
- The Federal Bureau of Investigations (FBI) intends to award a non-competitive, sole source contract to Cepheid, 904 Caribbean Drive, Sunnyvale, CA 94089 for an easily transportable microorganism detection platform. Cepheid shall provide the GeneXpert system, laptop which utilizes Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) technology for rapid and reliable detection of the DNA of certain microorganisms. This instrument is designed to have little sample and reagent manipulation which decreases the possibility of sample contamination. Based on extensive market research conducted with knowledgeable individuals in Government and the related industry, only one responsible source can provide the requested services. This Notice of Intent is not a request for competitive quotations, however interested parties may identify their interests and capability to respond to this requirement or submit quotes to this office by 9:00 AM, EST, Friday, August 25, 2006, via facsimile to the attention of Mr. Bryan V. Lane, Contracting Officer, at (703) 632-8071. E-mail quotes will also be accepted at blane@fbiacademy.edu. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. This contract will be awarded as a commercial item in accordance with Federal Acquisition Regulation, Parts 12 and 13. All contractors anticipating award, must be registered in the Central Contractor Registration Database.
